Hi, my name is Elaine. As an Interior Designer with a passion for texture, colour and pattern, I find inspiration not only in designing commercial workspaces but also in creating practical handmade items. Beyond my professional work, I’ve developed a hobby of sewing and crafting practical pouches and bags, combining my love for design with a commitment to sustainability. I carefully select fabrics not only from commercial collections and unique textiles sourced from around the world, but also repurpose commercial memo samples from design offices and manufacturers. This allows me to give new life to materials that would otherwise go unused, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that are both eco-friendly and stylish. Each pouch and bag is thoughtfully designed to be as functional as it is beautiful, offering a sustainable alternative without compromising on quality or craftsmanship.

Why 7th Side

The name 7th Side was born from the idea of thinking beyond the conventional and embracing creativity from new perspectives. In any interior space, we typically focus on the six sides of a cube—the floor, ceiling, and four walls. But true creativity comes from thinking outside these confines, looking beyond the obvious to find that extra dimension that makes a space or object truly unique. For myself, it’s a place where I can pursue my hobby and challenge myself with new creations. 7th Side is a reminder to always think beyond the limits, to design with originality and to create something that stands apart.

My products are also available in the cutest little shop in Keswick, Ontario called Twig Gardens & Co. located at 10 The Queensway South. Check it out when you are in the area or heading north to cottage country. There are a lot of artisans who showcase their craftsmanship in that store.
